Who uses the Google Search API for rank monitoring

If your reporting depends on knowing where a page sits in Google — in a specific place, on a specific day — this is the layer underneath it.

01

SEO agencies

Report defensible positions across dozens of client accounts and local markets without running a proxy pool.

02

Enterprise SEO teams

Track owned and competitor visibility across brands, regions, and languages in one pipeline.

03

Rank tracking platforms

Power a commercial product on an API priced per successful request, with headroom to resell at margin.

04

Market intelligence teams

Turn SERP share of voice into a competitive signal alongside pricing and news data.

05

Content portfolio operators

Monitor thousands of pages across affiliate and media properties, and catch drops before revenue moves.

Why rank tracking breaks at scale

Three failures account for almost every gap in a rank-tracking dataset. None of them are solved by buying more proxies.

Failure 01

Datacenter IPs get flagged within hours

Google rate-limits any pattern that looks automated. Success rates decay through the day, and the gaps land in your charts as ranking drops that never happened.

Client reports lose trust
Failure 02

A ranking in Munich is not the ranking in Berlin

Local intent reshapes the page. Without genuine city-level search you report one national average and miss the results your customers actually see.

Wrong local strategy
Failure 03

Slow responses cap how much you can track

At four seconds a request, a million-keyword run takes days and the data is stale before the report ships. Latency is a coverage problem, not a comfort problem.

Competitor moves spotted too late

The data the Google Search API returns

One call to the scraper.google.search actor returns the parsed page as structured JSON. Field names stay stable across Google's layout changes, so your pipeline keeps working when the SERP is reshuffled.

How a tracking run works

Send your keyword list

One request per keyword, or batch them. Set q, location, gl, and hl per keyword — there is no separate proxy configuration to maintain.

We handle access and speed

IP sourcing in the target region, fingerprint rotation, and CAPTCHA handling run behind the endpoint. Failed attempts are retried at our cost, not yours.

Store structured JSON

Positions, blocks, and pagination land in a stable schema. Push straight to your warehouse, or into a scheduled n8n workflow.

Built for the way SEO teams, agencies, and rank tracking platforms work

The fastest response in the category

Sub-second responses mean a million-keyword run finishes inside a nightly window instead of spilling into the next day. Speed is what decides how many keywords you can afford to track at all.

Search from any city in the world

Pass a city-level location and the request originates there, so you see the page a local searcher sees. That difference is the whole story for local and multi-location clients.

Every block on the page, parsed

Questions teams ask before they buy

Which is the cheapest Google Search API?

Compare effective cost per successful request rather than list price. Scrapeless lists at $1 per 1,000 and drops under $0.50 at volume, and blocked attempts are never billed — so the effective rate is usually lower than a headline comparison suggests.

Which Google Search API is fastest?

Scrapeless returns most Google Search requests in under one second. Many SERP API vendors sit in the multi-second range, which is what limits how many keywords a nightly run can realistically cover.

How close is this to what a real user in that city would see?

Pass a city-level value in the location parameter and the search originates from there. The docs recommend city-level values specifically to simulate a real user; if you omit it, the search takes on the location of the proxy instead.

What is the difference between the location and uule parameters?

location takes a plain place name such as "Austin, Texas" and we encode it for you; uule takes a Google-encoded location string directly. They cannot be used together. Use location unless you already store uule values from an existing rank tracking setup.

Can I pull News, Shopping, or Images from the same endpoint?

Yes. Set the tbm parameter to nws, shop, isch, vid, lcl, or pts and the same actor returns that vertical.

Does the Google Search API return AI Overviews?

No. AI Overview data comes from a dedicated scraper.overview actor rather than the Google Search API, so you call it separately when you need GEO reporting alongside organic positions.

What happens when Google changes the SERP layout?

Parsing is maintained on our side and the response schema stays stable. New blocks are added as new fields rather than by renaming existing ones.

Do I still need my own proxies?

No. IP sourcing, rotation, fingerprinting, and CAPTCHA handling sit behind the endpoint. An optional proxy.country field lets you pin the exit region when you need to.
